Waste Site Cleanup:
In most cases, significant environmental impacts associated with the release of oil or hazardous materials (OHM) from spills or as byproducts of commercial operations require remedial measures to mitigate potential health related exposures to humans and ecological receptors.
In Massachusetts, the cleanup of waste sites must be conducted by a Licensed Site Professional. A Licensed Site Professional (LSP) is licensed to manage cleanups by an independent State board. The LSP collects data on conditions at the Site, interprets this data; assesses the risks posed by the Site to health, safety, public welfare and the environment; and recommends and oversees the necessary cleanup actions. The LSP then provides formal written opinions concerning the response actions taken at the Disposal Site and ensures these actions comply with the requirements of the MA Contingency Plan 310 CMR 40.0000.
At BENNETT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATES, INC. (BEA) our experienced team has remediated more than 300 releases of oil and/or hazardous materials. Our investigative approach to site characterization allows us to cost-effectively determine the nature, severity and extent of contamination and the controlling subsurface geologic pathways. Our project managers conceptualize, design, permit, implement, and operate and maintain a remedial solution tailored to your specific site by using existing technology, developing new technology, or combining multiple techniques. These integrated site remediation solutions minimize costs because they are site-specific, technically defensible and innovative based on technologies that optimize cost-effectiveness.
At BEA we offer a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week emergency response hotline service that quickly and effectively puts a caller in touch with a qualified team member. Most recently we have unveiled our Emergency Response Unit which can be mobilized to any release of oil and/or hazardous materials on Cape Cod within 2 hours.
